In Round 1, the top X seeds are placed into "Bye Groups" with up to 10 teams per group. These teams are awarded byes based on their CC Points total, with the exact number depending on how many teams check-in.
The remaining teams are placed into "Match Groups" using snake seeding, with up to 20 teams per group. These teams will compete in 4 matches during Round 1.
Round 2 cannot begin until Round 1 has concluded since teams from each of the groups playing in Round 1 will be added to each of the groups in Round 2.
After Round 1 is completed:
- Teams from Bye Groups (who didn't play in Round 1) and the top 10 winners from each Match Group advance to Round 2.
- These teams are then distributed properly into new groups for Round 2, similar to how they would have been seeded in the past events.
- We will proceed as normal with the top 10 teams from each group advancing to the next round
